Buy Chess Board and Smart Chess Board with Chess King Position
Chess has been a beloved game for centuries, captivating minds with its blend of strategy, foresight, and skill. The chess board, a battlefield of 64 squares, is where every game unfolds. Today, technology has introduced a new dimension to this classic game with the advent of the smart chess board. But regardless of the board’s intelligence, mastering the position of your pieces, especially the chess king, remains crucial.
Chess Board
The chess board is the stage where every chess piece plays its part. Comprising 64 squares arranged in an 8x8 grid, it’s the foundation of the game. Each player starts with 16 pieces: pawns, knights, bishops, rooks, a queen, and a king. The arrangement and movement of these pieces are governed by strict rules, creating a complex and fascinating environment.
Smart Chess Board
The smart chess board is a modern marvel that has revolutionised how we play and learn chess. These boards are equipped with sensors and technology that can track the pieces’ movements in real-time. Some smart chess boards can even connect to the internet, allowing players to challenge opponents worldwide or play against sophisticated AI. This innovation makes learning and practising chess more accessible and engaging.
Tumblr media
Chess King Position
A smart chess board can be an invaluable tool for improving your understanding of the chess king position. These boards often come with built-in tutorials and lessons that guide players through different aspects of the game, including king safety and positioning.
By using a smart chess board, players can receive real-time feedback and suggestions on their moves, helping them learn how to protect their king and utilise it effectively during the game. Additionally, playing against AI or other players online can provide diverse scenarios to practise and hone these skills.
Conclusion
The fusion of traditional chess and modern technology in the form of a smart chess board offers exciting opportunities to deepen your strategic understanding and enjoyment of the game. Mastering the chess king position is a critical skill for any aspiring chess player. Whether you’re playing on a classic or smart chess board, keeping your king safe and strategically positioned is key to achieving victory on the chessboard.

Bet you didn't think we'd get to work on these so quickly! I want to give a HUGE thank you to @karleksmumskladdkaka for acquiring all of these rare CDs and sharing the audio with me for translation (づ>/////<)づ♡ This tokuten was hilarious and the bits where Ruki is trying to catch the Golden Bunny is just... his tactics might not have worked on the bunny (my own pet bunny would be equally unfazed) but I would've jumped straight into his arms. As always, enjoy listening and reading along! (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
[The scene starts with Kino aggressively tapping on his smartphone as he’s playing a game.]
00:00 Kino: And… I’ve cleared it! Ah, I’ve gotten tired of this game too… I should look for a new one to play.
[Kino searches the app store.]
K: Hm? What’s this? Huh? An app based on a board game? I’m not really into board games, but it’s been newly released, so I should download it just to check it out. Alright! It’s finished downloading. I’m gonna start it right away.
[Kino boots up the game.]
K: Oh! What an interesting opening to the game.
[The world starts swirling around Kino.]
K: Huh? What’s happening?! Why did such a strong wind start blowing all of a sudden? My body is being pulled into my smartphone by an incredibly powerful force. Ah… I can’t hold on… Ah!
[Kino disappears into his smartphone.] 01:13 [The scene shifts to Ruki reading in his room in the Mukami mansion.]
Ruki: Ah…
[There’s a knock on the door.]
R: Azusa? What’s up?
Azusa: How did you know… it was me?
R: Because Kou and Yuma are both out today. You’re the only one here.
A: Ah… I see. Hey, Ruki. I’m sorry for… interrupting your reading, but…
R: What’s wrong? Is that a smartphone in your hand?
A: Yeah, it is… Kou told me to check out a smartphone game earlier… This game… was released recently… I thought we could play it, but… I don’t know… how to start the app…
R: I see. So that’s what you came to ask.
A: Yeah. Kou isn’t here either, so… Do you… know how to do it, Ruki?
R: Of course. I know that much. Give me the smartphone. So you just want me to download the game that’s on the screen right now?
A: Yeah, I think so…
[Ruki downloads the game.]
R: Hm. This should do it. It downloaded successfully. Now you just have to tap this button to start the game.
A: I got it. So I should tap here… right? Like this…
[Azusa boots up the app and the world starts swirling around him.]
A: Huh? What’s with… this strong wind? Is this… part of the game? Ah…
R: No, that can’t be it… What’s going on? It’s like I’m being sucked into the smartphone…!
A: It’s happening to me too… Ah!
[Azusa disappears into the smartphone.]
R: Hey, Azusa…! …Shit!
[Ruki disappears along with him.]
03:55 K: Ugh… Ow… That really caught me off-guard. Hey… How long was I out? And where am I? It’s so dark that I can barely see what’s around me. Huh? There’s someone else on the ground, though. There’s two of them… Mukami Ruki and Azusa? Why are they here too?
[Kino tries to shake the Mukami brothers awake.]
K: Come on, wake up, you two. Hey, I’m telling you to wake up, damn it!
[Ruki stirs to life.]
R: Ugh…
K: Damn, you’re slow. Are you finally awake? And how about your brother?
R: Hey, Azusa. Wake up. Open your eyes.
[Azusa stirs to life as well.]
A: Ugh… Where are we? And why is… Kino here?
[Azusa sits up.]
R: Hey, Kino. Where are we?
And why are we here?
K: I don’t know either. When I woke up, I just kinda found myself here.
A: Earlier, we were… trying to play a game, though… What were you doing… before you got here, Kino…?
K: Me? I was just trying to play a game, but I was suddenly sucked into my smartphone. Before I knew it, I found myself in this strange place.
A: I see… So we were doing the exact same thing… The game you were trying to play… was it a… ‘game-of-life’ kind of game?
K: Oh, yes, that was it! You had to spin a roulette wheel. It was kinda like sugoroku (1).
R: I see… So that means that new game is likely the cause of all this. Besides, I’ve been wondering about that thing over there. Look.
A: Oh…? A gigantic… roulette wheel?
[Kino walks over to the roulette wheel.]
K: Oh! Look, look! If you look closely, there are squares (2) on the ground.
R: Judging from those square spaces, we really do seem to be inside that game. I don’t know what caused all of this, exactly, but that seems to be the most likely explanation. Anyway, let’s stay put until we know more.
07:10 [Kino is already spinning the roulette wheel.]
K: Huh? D’ya say something?
R: Hey…! Why did you spin that wheel?
K: Why? Because I felt like it, of course.
R: I just told you to stay put!
K: Oh, it’s alright! You’ll overexert yourself if you get pissed off at me for such small things.
R: If that’s what you think, aren’t you better off not doing those things? Don’t put this on me!
A: You two… now’s not the time to fight…
[A countdown signal goes off.]
K: What’s that sound?
A: It sounds like… something has started.
R: Be careful. It sounds like something’s coming towards us.
[A very large spider comes towards the boys.]
K: Ah! What’s up with that giant spider?! It’s gross!
A: It’s huge…
R: Damn… We’ve been hauled into this unknown place and now we’re being attacked by a gigantic spider? These are some strange things happening… Kino. This is your fault. You take down the spider.
K: What? Why me? Get off your high horse and stop ordering me around. I’m not your little brother.
R: We’re in this situation because you were careless enough to spin that roulette wheel. This is your responsibility, so you should do something about it…
[Ruki and Kino’s bickering fades to the background as Azusa tries to appeal to the spider.]
A: Those two…
[The spider roars.]
R: [In the background] So, that means that you’re under my watch now.
A: [To the spider] I’m sorry… They ended up ignoring you.
K: [In the background] Ha, I get it! You’re just a little weakling, then! That’s why you always order people around!
A: [To the spider] They just kind of… started bickering, and…
R: [In the background] Heh!
[The spider roars again.]
A: What should I do…? What can I even do…?
[Azusa walks around.]
A: Ah!
09:00R: Speak for yourself! You’re looking for excuses because you’re actually not confident that you can defeat that spider!
K: What? D’you think you can just make fun of me?
[The spider roars again.]
K: [To the spider] Hey, shut the fuck up! Take this!
[Kino attacks the spider.]
R: You should stay quiet while people are talking. Good grief, you have no manners.
[Ruki attacks the spider, killing it. Ruki walks over to it.]
R: Finally, you’ve gone quiet.
A: Ah… so you’ve defeated the spider.
R: Yeah, well, this clearly isn’t a place for leisuring. We should look around for clues so we can get out of here as fast as possible.
A: Ah, about that… Look at this. The spot that the roulette wheel landed on… it reads… “a large volume of spiders will show up,” “dispose of them rather than complaining”...
K: A large volume of spiders? So that’s what that spider was just now?
R: I see. So in this realm, whatever is written on the spaces will become reality.
K: Wow, that’s cool! So that means we’re playing a sort of sensory experience game here?
A: What’s written on the spaces… will actually materialise… But this space… doesn’t say anything about one gigantic spider… But we haven’t seen more spiders, either…
K: Aren’t they just talking about bugs? It’s a common occurrence in newly released games. And we’re inside the game right now, so that could explain it.
R: I see. Whatever the case, we should not stick around much longer. We’re getting out of here. Now.
11:05 A: But… how?
R: I have an idea.
K: Well, it doesn’t take a genius to come up with an escape plan. If we’re inside a game, we’ll just have to end the game, won’t we?
A: So, that means…
K: Yep, we just have to clear the game.
R: However, whatever is written on the square spaces seems to actually occur inside this game. Clearing it is not going to be easy.
A: Ah… actually, when you two were fighting earlier… I found something. Look. Come over here.
[Azusa leads them to a different spot.]
A: Look at this space.
K: Huh? What’s this?
R: It says “Find the Golden Bunny for good luck. You may proceed to the goal immediately.”
K: Well, then, we can clear the game if we find that Golden Bunny, right?
R: I suppose so. Well done, Azusa.
A: Yeah.
R: However, I don’t think we’ll be able to find that bunny so easily…
[Lo and behold, a bunny hops by.]
K: Huh? Was that…?
R: The Golden… Bunny.
[The Golden Bunny happily hops away.]
K: Oh! Stop standing around. Let’s catch it! Come on, you two!
A: Ah… alright.
R: Kino, let’s work together. I’ll lend you a hand this time so we can get out of here.
K: Heh, get off your high horse. But, well, alright. I’ll join forces with you to escape this place. Don’t stand in my way, though.
A: Yes! Let’s all work together, then.
R: Great. We’re going after that bunny!
[The three run after the bunny.]
13:15 A: Haa… haa… Yes! We’ve caught up with it! Hehe. [To the bunny] Hey… you look… pretty tasty. Come on… don’t be scared. I’ll do you a favour… and catch you!
[Azusa tries to catch the bunny but it gets away and Azusa falls.]
A: Oh. Ow…
K: Jeez, don’t just try to grab it like that! Cornering it will only scare it away. You’ll never catch the bunny that way!
A: Sorry… Ah, Ruki… It’s coming your way!
[The bunny hops over to Ruki. Ruki and the bunny have a staredown.]
R: Well. Hey, you! Bunny. Come here. I’ll be nice to you. Now, jump into my arms!
[The bunny—unlike the translator—is unfazed by Ruki’s tactics and it runs off.]
R: That’s strange… Why didn’t it jump into my arms?
K: What?! Did you seriously expect that to work? Oh, the two of you are completely useless.
R: Hey, Kino! It’s heading your way! Don’t waste this chance. Catch it!
K: What? It’s easy for you to order me around! Did you forget your own failure so easily? This pisses me off. I might be stubborn, but I’m going to fucking catch you!
[The bunny hops by Kino.]
K: Take this!
[Kino throws himself on top of the bunny. Ruki and Azusa run over to him.]
A: Kino!
R: Kino! Hey, did you catch it?
[Kino holds up the bunny.]
K: I did it… I caught it! I did it!
A: What a relief… Now we’ll be able to go home… We were able to catch it… because we all worked together.
R: Yeah, we did. It’s not so bad to help each other out.
K: Whoa, now. It’s thanks to my efforts that we’ve got the bunny. The two of you didn’t even do anything. Stop that sappy talk.
15:18A: This bunny… is pretty docile… and fluffy…
K: It really is. It’s pretty cute with its little twitching nose.
A: Yeah… how cute. Hey, Ruki. Can’t we keep a bunny at home?
R: That’s not a good idea. I’d be the one constantly looking after it in the end.
A: It’s okay. I’ll take good care of it. So… please, Ruki?
K: Do you two always have such dull conversations? A Golden Bunny, though… They’re pretty rare. It would be nice if there were more of them.
[Something starts rumbling in the distance.]
A: Hey… Do you guys… hear something?
[An army of bunnies appears and heads for the boys.]
K: Are those… Why is there a horde of Golden Bunnies?! And why are they all coming our way?
R: Kino, you fool… Because of your careless remark—
K: Ah! Did I do that?!
A: Is this… also a bug? Hehe. There are so many bunnies…
K: Why do you look so happy about it? This is bad!
A: [In the background] Hehe… So many…
K: Agh! I can’t—The bunnies are trampling over me—
R: Fuck! How did it come to—Agh!
[The boys are buried under all the bunnies.]
17:11[Kino shoots upright in his bed.]
K: Ah! I thought I was going to suffocate. But… Huh? I’m in my own bed. Does that mean that wave of bunnies was… only a dream? Well… Of course it was. I wonder why those Mukami brothers were in my dream, though. It felt awfully real. Hmm…
[Ruki and Azusa also wake up in cold sweat.]
R: Ah… The bunnies?! They’re gone…
A: We’re in… your room, Ruki.
R: Apparently, we just fell asleep in my room somehow…
A: Yeah, but… I had a… strange dream.
R: Me too. A bad dream. I saw a giant spider and gold-coloured bunnies. It all sounds like a wicked joke, I’m sure.
A: Same for me… I also saw golden bunnies… Come to think of it… For some reason, Kino was also there…
R: I see. So you saw him too, Azusa… It seems a little too strange to be a coincidence for the two of us to have the same dream.
A: It does… But it was a really strange dream…
R: It was. It felt strangely realistic, too, but it was only a dream, after all.
A: So the giant spider… appeared in your dream too…
R: It did. It was a pretty rude one, at that, because it kept trying to interrupt our conversation.
A: Yeah… but, Ruki…
[The conversation trails off…]

双六(すごろく): Sugoroku is a Japanese board game kind of similar to backgammon and snakes and ladders, where you have to move all of your pieces to the other side of the board as quickly as you can. Sugoroku often incorporates elements from real life—like religion, politics, etc.—into this ‘race’ for storytelling purposes and more exciting play. You could liken it to the Game of Life too, in my opinion.
マス目 (ますめ):Squares; square-shaped spaces like the spaces you see on the board of a board game.

KNIGHTS!
THANK YOU AUGUST
On opposite sides. That's how it always had been, and that's how they were now facing each other.
(Even if "sides" didn't exist anymore.)
The only sounds on their cottage was the birds chirping outside, the grandfather clock tick-tacking and the focused breathing of the two beings.
Clack! The black knight landed on f4, putting the white king in check, the sound echoing in the still air.
Aziraphale’s lips trembled and a chuckle emerged.
"My dear boy!" He wiggled a bit on the armchair, reclining comfortably, his smile smug. "This is how I always told you; evil always contains the seeds of its own destruction."
Crowley only shrugged, sipping his scotch not to comment, hiding himself behind the glass. Aziraphale only raised his bitchy eyebrow, and still smiling, moved his bright white knight over Crowley's, capturing it with a little satisfied sigh.
There was no way for him to win with only the king and a knight, after all.
Aziraphale reclined again, ready to offer Crowley the choice of stopping now or to watch his king fall – but when he looked up, he only saw Crowley's wicked smirk.
A mischievous, demonic aura almost oozed from him.
"Aziraphale..." the drawl itself – teasing, mocking – on his name told everything he needed to know.
He looked at the board again, and felt himself getting pale, cold sweat running down his spine.
"Do you know how bloody annoying it is to pull off a two knights checkmate?"
He was slouching in his chair, gesturing broadly with the glass, the smug demon.
"You... weren't trying to win..."
A snort.
"Not with two knights, noooooo. But there was no way that I'd let you win, you know?"
Crowley leaned, capturing Aziraphale’s bishop with his knight.
Both looked at the board, both with a knight and a king.
"We always balanced each other out after all, didn't we?"
There was no winning with this infuriating demon.
Aziraphale huffed in annoyance, but couldn't fight his own smile.
Send me a prompt in my ask box and receive a little something!

In my language the rook is called a “top” and when you say something is “top” in my language you’re saying something is great
So all I’m saying is top is top
Right! ...I think.
[Board is having a bit of trouble understanding what you said, but figures its probably a compliment to the rook.]

Doing a bunch of those personality tests as I pivot to find a new career/percrastinate in figuring out my next step.
And they all tell me im the "tactician" or "logitian" aka "a loner with big idea about better ways to do shit"
And while I do joke that Myers Briggs is astrology for MBA's it's really looking how I perceive myself...
Which is why the "loner with big ideas..." feels the truest. I dont feel like a military genius.
The I remember that when i amnintroduced to a new stratagy based board game, I don't always win but I do almost always end up in the top half of players at the end.
If you looked at my character sheet, I'd have +1 to statagy games.
Why am I telling tumblr about this? Why is it funny:
I dont particularly like board games. I never suggest playing them. I will play them in group settings but I don't activly seem them out.
Maybe I should.

so bill and ford dont know how chess fucking works
Tumblr media
you Cannot use that as an opening move. the knight cant move that far, literally in the middle of the board ,on the complete opposite of the board from where it started. Also bill is playing black, white is always first to move so he should NOT be opening
Tumblr media
And ford, babe, that queen cant move with a pawn in her way, and also cant move that far across the board in one turn.
so anyway headcanon that they are both faking being able to play cause chess is a Smart People Thing.

I think you're right that it's significant, and I think Mori is clever to recognize that Akutagawa is a rook.
Like a rook, Akutagawa is powerful, but generally contained and often undercut by his predictability. However, because he's keenly aware of his own constraints, and because others often aren't (especially regarding variables they've internalized as known), he's able to play into and against his own predictability to paradoxically surprise them.
He moves within the confines of his rigidity to shape outcomes, sometimes more effectively than his more dynamic opponents and peers. Rooks do that too, if you let them.
Tumblr media
Me, knowing nothing about chess, probably overthinking the significance of referencing akutagawa in this scene, but is going to look it up later anyways
#i have very specific chess feelings and thoughts re: rooks (which is what that piece is)#because in elementary school i was in a program for intellectually gifted students - by which i do NOT mean an honors program#i mean i displayed several specific neuro characteristics and struggled in a classroom environment such that i was referred for screening#the results of the screening flagged me for several additional tests and my results on those tests then prompted a comprehensive assessment#which was conducted by a licensed examiner who additionally administered another test chosen specifically based on my prior data#the report from which triggered a review of all of the above data by a panel of specialists who determined that I was wired so atypically#that I required specifically designed support services to avoid an adverse impact my access to education#ie I was not considered academically gifted which is what people are usually thinking of when they talk about giftedness (esp on tumblr)#i prefaced with all of that to counter misconceptions and emphasize that i was not in a program for smart and highly successful students#i was in a program for students with distinct cognitive processing needs that could not be met without specialized intervention#but inanely and entirely b/c of misconceptions the administrators at my school forcibly registered us in an annual chess tournament#which they wouldn't let us opt out of b/c there was a funding incentive for the school if we advanced far enough#ironically chess is a bad fit for this type of giftedness b/c it's rote + relies on bounded conventions instead of creative problem solving#but anyway i did not want to fucking play chess especially not competitively - it's boring and gets redundant#so i intentionally threw all of my games to remove myself from the tournament early#except my fellow indentured chess competitors noticed i was doing that and they were also bored and didn't care for the tournament#and so several of them made a game out of forcibly advancing me as far as they could by outmaneuvering my attempts to lose#horrifically they managed to corner me into winning enough that i was in serious danger of advancing#and so i started AGGRESSIVELY practicing chess in my spare time to learn how to shape the board and get confident in my ability to do so#i played against computers and then strangers online for hours a day and i studied checkmate patterns and how to subvert + reconfigure them#all so i could play well enough to ensure i'd lose even when being actively sabotaged#it worked - i narrowly escaped advancing that year and I don't think they were able to lose to me again after that#they kept trying - even playing me outside of tournaments to try and figure out how i was consistently losing#it's b/c i layered multiple strategies that involved breaking select conventions + manipulating their focus and psychology#BUT the fulcrum of my approach relied heavily on my rooks and select pawns as my most valuable pieces#i got very good at using rooks to shape the board without placing them in a position to be captured until i wanted them to be#once i had a few pawns close to promotion i would shift my rooks into bait b/c once one was taken i could just promote a pawn into a rook#and because absent a potential stalemate people almost always promote pawns into queens#my opponent would forget my additional rooks and would make choices based on the implicit assumptions that my deputized pawns were queens#rooks are treasures

Summary: Spencer giving Reader a lot of compliments and one of them makes her blush a lot.
Spencer had been different since prison. Not entirely in ways the team would notice—he still rattled off statistics, quoted obscure literature, and beat everyone at chess. But when you’d known someone as deeply as I knew Spencer, even subtle shifts felt monumental. He was sharper now, his edges honed by experiences no one should have endured. But when it was just the two of us, in those quiet, stolen moments, he softened.
That’s why I stayed by his side tonight instead of joining the team for drinks. Spencer had waved off the invitation, saying he needed a quiet night, and when I hesitated to leave him alone, he’d asked me to stay. It wasn’t much—a shared meal and a chess game in his small apartment—but to me, it felt like everything.
“I can’t tell if you’re planning your next move or plotting my demise,” Spencer said, leaning back in his chair as he watched me.
“I can do both,” I said lightly, though the truth was, I’d been staring at the board for so long because I had no idea what to do.
He smirked, tilting his head slightly. “You’re stalling.”
“I’m thinking,” I corrected.
“You’ve been ‘thinking’ for six minutes and thirty-two seconds.”
“Are you timing me?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“No, but I glanced at the clock when you stopped moving your hand after your last turn.”
“Of course you did,” I muttered, my eyes flicking back to the board. “Not all of us have an IQ of 187, you know.”
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. The soft light from the lamp behind him highlighted the sharp planes of his face, and for a second, I forgot what we were talking about.
“You’re better than you think,” he said, his voice low.
“Better at chess, or better in general?” I quipped, trying to deflect the heat rising in my cheeks.
Spencer didn’t answer right away. Instead, he studied me, his hazel eyes unblinking and intent.
“Both,” he said simply.
My heart skipped a beat, but I forced myself to focus. This was just Spencer being Spencer—kind and honest to a fault. It didn’t mean anything. Not really.
Finally, I made a move, sliding my bishop into place. I looked up at him triumphantly. “Your turn, genius.”
Spencer’s eyes flicked to the board, and he moved his queen with a casual grace that made my stomach sink. “Checkmate,” he said softly.
“What?” I leaned forward, scanning the board. He was right. Of course he was right.
“How?” I groaned, sitting back in my chair. “I was so careful!”
“That was a good game,” he said, his tone genuine. “You lasted longer than usual.”
I rolled my eyes. “Gee, thanks.”
“No, really,” he insisted. “Your defense has improved. That last move was smart.”
“Then how did I still lose?”
His lips quirked into a smile. “Because I’ve been playing chess since I was four, and you’ve only been playing for—”
“Three months,” I finished for him.
“Exactly,” he said, his smile widening. “But you’re learning fast. Good girl.”
The words hit me like a freight train. My cheeks burned, and I ducked my head, pretending to fiddle with the edge of the table.
“Something wrong?” Spencer asked, his voice tinged with concern.
“No,” I said quickly, my voice higher than usual. “I’m fine.”
“You’re blushing,” he observed, tilting his head.
“I’m not,” I lied, even though I could feel the heat spreading down my neck.
His lips twitched, like he was fighting a smile. “You’re a terrible liar.”
“I’m not lying,” I said weakly, avoiding his gaze.
“Hmm,” he hummed, his tone teasing now.
Desperate to change the subject, I stood and grabbed the empty takeout containers from the coffee table. “I’m going to clean this up.”
Spencer followed me into the kitchen, leaning against the counter as I tossed the containers into the trash. His presence was a tangible thing, and I could feel his eyes on me as I wiped down the counter.
“Good,” he said softly.
I turned to face him, confused. “Good what?”
“Good technique,” he said, nodding toward the counter.
My cheeks flamed again. “Are you just saying that to mess with me?”
“No,” he said, his expression softening. “I mean it. You’re good at a lot of things, but you never give yourself credit.”
I swallowed hard, my heart pounding in my chest. “I think you’re overestimating me,” I said quietly.
Spencer stepped closer, his gaze never leaving mine. “No, I’m not,” he said firmly. “You’re smart, capable, and one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. You’re… amazing.”
My breath caught in my throat. The sincerity in his voice, the intensity in his eyes—it was overwhelming.
“Spencer…” I trailed off, unsure of what to say.
He reached out, his fingers brushing against mine. The touch was so gentle, so careful, it made my chest ache. “You don’t believe me, do you?”
I shook my head slightly. “It’s not that… I just don’t see myself the way you do.”
His brows furrowed, and he tilted his head slightly. “You should. Because I’m not wrong.”
The silence between us stretched, thick with unspoken words. I felt like I was standing on the edge of something, and for once, I wasn’t afraid to fall.
“You’re doing it again,” he said softly.
“Doing what?”
“Doubting yourself,” he said, his voice laced with a quiet kind of sadness.
I opened my mouth to argue, but the look on his face stopped me.
“You’re a good girl,” he said, his voice low and steady. “You just don’t know it yet.”
My cheeks burned, and I looked down, unable to meet his gaze.
“Hey,” he said gently, tilting my chin up with his finger. “Don’t hide from me.”
“I’m not hiding,” I whispered, though the words felt hollow.
“Yes, you are,” he said, his voice soft but firm. “And you don’t have to.”
Before I could overthink it, I stepped closer, closing the small distance between us. “Spencer…”
“Yes?”
I hesitated, my heart hammering in my chest. But then his eyes softened, and I knew. I knew he would catch me if I fell.
“I want to kiss you,” I said, my voice barely audible.
Spencer's lips curved into a small, surprised smile. “You do?”
I nodded, my cheeks flaming. “Is that… okay?”
His eyes softened, a mixture of surprise and something deeper—something that made my heart race. “It’s more than okay,” he said quietly.
I barely had time to process his words before his hand cupped my cheek, his fingers feather-light against my skin. He was so close now, his breath warm against my lips. For a moment, we just stood there, suspended in time.
And then he kissed me.
The world fell away.
It started soft, tentative—like he was afraid I’d disappear if he moved too quickly. His lips brushed against mine once, twice, each touch careful and reverent. It was everything I hadn’t dared to hope for: tender, consuming, perfect.
But then I leaned in, my fingers clutching at the front of his cardigan, and something shifted. The kiss deepened, and Spencer’s hand slid from my cheek to the back of my neck, pulling me closer. His other hand rested lightly on my waist, steadying me as my knees threatened to give out beneath me.
The softness gave way to something bolder, more urgent. His lips moved against mine with a fervor that left me breathless, and I couldn’t stop the small gasp that escaped me. Spencer stilled for a fraction of a second, as if startled by the sound, but then his grip tightened ever so slightly, and I was lost all over again.
He tasted like peppermint tea and something uniquely Spencer, and I never wanted it to end.
When we finally pulled apart, I was dizzy, my head spinning in the best way possible. Spencer rested his forehead against mine, his breath coming in short, uneven bursts.
“That was…” He trailed off, his voice unsteady.
“Amazing,” I finished for him, my voice barely above a whisper.
He chuckled softly, the sound warm and intimate in the quiet of his apartment. “Yeah. Amazing.”
My cheeks flushed, but this time it wasn’t from embarrassment—it was from the way he was looking at me, like I was the only thing in the world that mattered.
“I’ve wanted to do that for a long time,” he admitted, his voice low.
“Really?” I asked, my heart swelling at the thought.
He nodded, a small, shy smile playing at his lips. “But I didn’t think you felt the same way.”
“Spencer,” I said, shaking my head with a soft laugh. “How could I not? You’re… you.”
His brow furrowed slightly, like he was trying to puzzle out my words. “I’m not always good at recognizing when people care about me,” he said quietly.
“Well, I care,” I said firmly, my hand still clutching the front of his cardigan. “A lot.”
He smiled then, a real, unguarded smile that made my chest ache in the best way. “I care about you too,” he said softly.
For a moment, neither of us spoke. The air between us was thick with unspoken promises, the kind that didn’t need words to be understood.
Spencer’s hand slid from my waist to my hand, his fingers curling around mine. “You’re incredible, you know that?”
I looked away, flustered. “You’re just saying that.”
“I’m not,” he said, tugging me closer. “You’re smart, kind, and strong. And you’re a good girl.”
There it was again, the phrase that sent my heart into overdrive. My cheeks burned, and I bit my lip, trying to suppress the shy smile threatening to break free.
“You really like saying that, don’t you?” I teased, though my voice came out softer than I intended.
“Only because it’s true,” he said, his thumb brushing over my knuckles.
The sincerity in his voice, the way he was looking at me—I couldn’t take it. I hid my face in his chest, my fingers curling into the fabric of his cardigan.
“You’re impossible,” I mumbled against him, though my tone lacked any real heat.
“And you’re adorable when you’re flustered,” he replied, his voice filled with gentle amusement.
I tilted my head up to look at him, narrowing my eyes in mock indignation. “You’re lucky I like you.”
His smile widened, and he leaned down to press a soft kiss to my forehead. “I’m the lucky one.”
---
After we settled onto the couch, Spencer pulled a blanket over us, his arm draped around my shoulders as I rested my head against his chest. The quiet hum of the world outside seemed so far away, replaced by the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
“Spencer?” I asked softly, my voice breaking the comfortable silence.
“Hmm?”
“This is real, right?” I tilted my head to look up at him, my eyes searching his face for any hint of hesitation.
He glanced down at me, his brows furrowing slightly. “Of course it’s real. Why would you think it’s not?”
“I don’t know,” I admitted, my cheeks flushing. “It just feels… too good to be true.”
Spencer’s hand came up to cradle my face, his thumb brushing lightly over my cheek. “It’s real,” he said firmly. “I’m real. And I’m not going anywhere.”
Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, but I blinked them away, focusing instead on the warmth in his gaze. “Promise?”
“I promise,” he said softly, pressing another kiss to my forehead.
And in that moment, with his arms around me and his words echoing in my heart, I believed him.

#4 — BONDING TIME OVER CHESS! 2.0m VIEWS
Sitting at a small table, is you and the one and only coach of the infamous German team—Noel Noa. There is a small jug of water on the table in front of you both and also a chess table.
You clutch your chin between your fingers thoughtfully, eyes narrowed and squinted down at the board. Each of you has equal pieces taken away, and he's seemed to have cornered your pieces on the table.
He's watching you with an unreadable expression—you hardly notice through your intense thinking.
A game, all about strategy—It's no surprise you and Noa were locked intensely in a game such as this. It is a game that centres around your team's core values, and there's no substitution for cold, unfiltered logic.
Your eyes light up, and you move your piece on the board. Underneath the table, you cross your fingers as he makes his next move.
It is not long at all before your smile widens and you move your pieces along—collecting his King piece and practically sparkling when you announce, "Checkmate."
He shows a semblance of emotion—shock—when his eyes widen at your moves. It's for such a split second that it was nigh impossible to catch it if you blinked—however, his expression soon reverted back to normal as soon as the reality of his loss sunk in.
"Hm." That is all he has to say. He stares down at the chess board for a few silent moments longer, then says, "I did not expect that. That was a smart move."
You aren't too prideful, but you feel like preening like a peacock at the praise. You smile, placing your linked hands on your lap and nodding, "Thank you. It only worked because I believed you would take the most logical option possible for that next move."
You gesture towards the barren pieces left around his king. If Noa were a regular person, you're sure he would've smiled.
But he is not, so he didn't. "...Good job."
You don't expect the way his large hand finds its way atop your head and how he gives you a singular head pat. You blink incredulously, with dotted eyes.
He pulls away after a moment and you cough into a closed fist. "Master... how about another game?"
He has an indifferent tone—"Sure."—But the way he looks at you fondly tells you all you need to know.
You smile—ignoring the crash and bang of the unsupervised training behind you—and keep smiling as Ness chases Raichi through the room with a kitchen knife.

#3 — BATTLE OVER THE BATHROOM! 2.6m VIEWS
Aryu and you are at a standstill. Staring at each other, you both are silent and glaring.
You move quicker than the eye can see—rushing forward and using your hand to push the taller man behind you. "Ladies first," you try to say, excusing yourself but is quickly tugged backward.
You screech, lips forming into a nasty scowl at the man tugging your lacy singlet like you're a dog, "WHAT THE HELL, JYUBEI?!"
He winces at the mention of his name, but holds his head up high and huffs, "A glam being such as I deserve to use the bathroom first."
"You and your long ass hair takes years to dry! I need it more!"
Sparkles fly around Aryu and he makes a glam pose, "I don't think so, my [name] dear. I cannot waste a moment to not deter my extreme—" He makes the mistake of letting go of you for a moment to gesture to himself, "—Glam."
His head is suddenly jerked back as you roughly tug it and hiss through your teeth, "Just be a good boy and let me use the bathroom—and I won't make your life hell during training, okay?"
He screams, eyes hardening at you, "You cretin! How dare you touch my hair?! The mop on your head doesn't need any care whatsoever!"
You gasp in offended shock and lunge at him, "Oh no you didn't—"
Five minutes of tussling and petty insults later—it is abruptly stopped by the upward grab of somebody tossing the skinny, spider-limbed boy over their shoulder.
"What... the hell... are you idiots doing?" There, in all his pajamaed, loose-hair glory, is Barou Shoei, holding Aryu in a death grip and staring at you two with an aura of death. His tone is nothing short of dangerous. "You... woke up the entire stratum."
You blink, wide-eyed, while Aryu flips his hair around like a buzzing fly.
"What the hell are you all yappin' about?" Aiku walks in with pants hanging low and shamelessly shirtless—yawning and eyes half-lidded while Niko stands beside him in an oversized shirt with the print, Sleep, Anime, Game, Repeat.
Sendou is walking like a sluggish zombie with a bright pink eye mask on that says, Pretty, with him inches away from walking into a wall, if Lorenzo had not steered him away with a loud cackle.
Suddenly, you stand up and dash forward, "Well, thanks for letting me use the bathroom!" You don't waste a second in flashing Barou a pearly smile and waving as you close the bathroom door.
Behind her, Aryu lets out a loud scream of frustration and Barou snaps at him to shut the fuck up.

#2 — GETTING INTERRUPTED! 4.3m VIEWS
You peek your head into an—almost—empty training room, blinking curiously and surveying the inside. Your eyes light up like stars when you catch sight of something inside the room. The camera pans to show that thing happened to be Isagi Yoichi.
"That shot you made during training was so incredible," you say, taking a seat beside him. A towel is wrung around his neck and he's drinking out of a water bottle like it is the first time he has ever touched water.
Sweat drips down the side of his face—he wipes it away with a large pearly grin and tilts his head toward you, "Right? I could barely believe I did it."
"But you did!" You look to be just as excited as he is, twinkling with joy and smiling wide, "Even Mariele was impressed! You did great, Isagi! If you can replicate it during a game, it will be perfect!"
Isagi stands up suddenly—seeming to be bursting with energy and joy—he situates himself in front of you and you stare up at him, "It's perfect!"
You laugh, standing up in front of him and he places his hands on your shoulders, "It is!"
You both start giggling uncontrollably together—even from a viewing perspective, the energy in the room is unmistakable—and he stares deeply into your eyes with a soft smile.
You look up at him with a similar expression—eyes-half-lidded and squinted upwards—you start to lean in, slowly, when—
"[name]!"
You nearly fall backwards, if not for Isagi's arm wrapping snugly around your waist and tugging you forward. Your head snaps towards the source of the noise in the room—and there stands Gagamaru, with an empty, confused look in his black-hole eyes.
You step aside, away from the egoist—you don't catch the disappointed look on his face as you look towards your goalkeeper—"Sorry, Gagamaru, what did you need?"
He blinks, soullessly. "We've run out of tide pods again."
Isagi is shown rolling his eyes in the background and grabbing his towel.

#1 — THE FIGHT OVER THEIR MANAGER! 5.6m VIEWS
The video abruptly starts at a strange angle, where Ness has a death grip on the front of Isagi's shirt, "Shut. Up! Die, Yoichi! DIE!"
Kurona and Hiori both leap over to try and pry the screeching boy off of Isagi with panicked expressions. Yukimiya, Gagamaru, Raichi and Kaiser all sit in the back without seeming worried whatsoever.
"Get off me—!!" Isagi pushes the magician away with a snarl, eyes narrowing into a hard glare and face contorting uncomfortably. "What the hell is wrong with you?!"
"How dare you say that to Kaiser?!" Ness regains his composure with a huff and glare, cheeks puffing out like a small child, "Don't you get it?! If Kaiser wants your manager, she's not yours anymore, she's his! This is his team, not yours, idiot Yoichi!"
A stark silence fills the room and everyone's eyes turn to Ness. He either doesn't notice or doesn't care—because his boiling hot glare directed towards Isagi does not falter for a moment.
"Well, that's incredibly presumptious of you to say." Yukimiya steps forward and pushes his glasses furthur up his nose bridge. "You talk about her as if she is nothing more than a exclusivity, no?"
Kaiser grins, pearly teeth peeking out from behind his slim lips, "Oh? Are you Blue Lockers getting all possessive over your little manager, now? Cute."
"Stay away from her," Gagamaru looms over the German with big wide eyes. "She's ours."
"No way!" Ness snarls, forcibly moving the big man away from Kaiser. "Stop talking to Kaiser like this! He's better than you all! You're just stupid stepping stones for—"
Kurona bares his teeth and frowns deeply, "Miss Manager likes us better, anyways. Anyways."
Kaiser squints his eyes and smiles at the shark-boy, head tilted to the side and smile dangerously charming, "Oh? And who said that?"
"Me, obviously." Isagi looks completely and utterly unaffected by Kaiser's words and stands up in front of him without hesitation. He stares, deeply, into his eyes. "You think, that in any world, she'd choose you, over me?"
His eyes rest and he looks strangely calm, "You're a fucking clown, Kaiser."
"Yoichi..." His voice is strained and hard—brows furrow downwards and he does not get a chance to say anything else when Ness pushes him back and gets all up in Isagi's face instead.
"Die, Yoichi! Die, you idiot!"
"Hey now, maybe we shouldn't..." Hiori raises his hand and begins to try and walk closer to the two—when he is swiftly cut off by Raichi yelling something to start a fight—and a fight he earns.
A catfight hidden by the circle of players ensues in the middle of the cafeteria—just as three figures pass by the open doorway.
You peek inside for a moment—then look right back at the people beside you. "Is everything alright in there?"
"If we walk quickly, we will not be able to see them." An ominous reply, from Noa, and that is all the soccer star says before grabbing you by the hand and tugging you along—forever lost and confused about what was going on in the cafeteria that day.
